28 Apr Family Time
Hey! Welcome back! I hope you’re having an excellent weekend. Today was a really good day, and it’s
only going to get better. I started the morning at 04:00am and got some house work done, studied a bit, and worked on my email campaigns. Then, around 08:30am, I headed outside to get some yard work done. Where I live, it takes about an hour and a half just to do the trimming. I wanted to get that done as early as possible so I had plenty of time to get ready for Jackson’s soccer game.
I wrapped up my chores, got cleaned up, and headed towards town to get the team a post game snack. Snack time following the game is not to be taken lightly. The kids really look forward to it and I’m glad it makes them happy.
Most of the kids arrived early and we were able to get them in their team shirts and practice a few drills. I was excited, but a little nervous too. Ultimately, for a group of kids under six years old, they did a heck of a job. Everyone was engaged and wanted to play. We even scored a couple goals! It was awesome.
Once the game ended and all the kids left, it was time for a good meal. Joined by my mother and father in-law, we sat down at my favorite Mexican restaurant for some quality family time and quality food. As always, the service was great and the tacos were exceptional. The conversations were light and generated plenty of laughter. My mother in-law is also one of my biggest supporters and it’s great being able to spend time together. I can always count on her for positive reinforcement and the words “I love you” when I need it most. Thank you, I love you more than you know!
After lunch, we came home and I was quickly reminded that I made a promise for ice cream after the soccer game. Without hesitation, we were back on the road to get ice cream and keep the good times alive. Jackson got his favorite, and I tried something new. Jackson was satisfied and finally ready to head home for the remainder of the day.
Immediately after walking through the door, Jackson excitedly asked, “can we have a movie night?”. I replied, “Of course!” and got to work on the blog immediately so I would have plenty of time to hang out with my little buddy and watch his favorite movie.
Everyday, I learn more about the smallest things that make me the happiest. I learn to focus on what’s right in front of me and what I can do thats makes my family’s life better. Sure, I have goals and things that need to get done, but nothing is more important than family and I am so grateful to have them in my life!
I hope you have a great night and I’ll see you here tomorrow.
Cheers to your success!
