From Zero to Hero

From Zero to Hero

Hey! It’s Wednesday and you’re already halfway through the week! Hopefully, you’ve been knocking down your daily and weekly goals and staying true to your ambitions. Even if the week got off to a rocky start, take massive action today to realign your trajectory and regain control of your results. It’s important, at this point, not to kick back and coast to the finish line. Rather, now is the time to really push and showcase your drive. Allow your grit and determination to prevent you from falling victim of “going through the motions”. While others taper off and get stuck in the cycle of average, launch yourself forward and bring attention to your efforts and enthusiasm. As you gain momentum, encourage others to follow your lead by showing them what a positive attitude, focus, and drive can accomplish. A true leader commands from the front and meets challenges head on with an army of support following close behind.

1. I started my day by listening to a Tony Robbins podcast when he interviewed UFC star and entrepreneur Conor McGregor. It’s an older episode but its relevance is timeless. Love him or hate him, Conor has mastered his thoughts and manifested for himself a life of great success. Prior to the start of his MMA career, Conor was a plumber’s apprentice in a semi poor sector of Dublin, Ireland. During his time in the trade, he quickly realized his ambitions were far beyond the horizons of manual labor and pivoted his life towards his true passion. It took some time to figure it out, but Conor finally acknowledged that his life’s work would be dedicated to combat sports. Early on, he predicted that he would go on to accomplish great things in the UFC and etch his name in the history books. Conor’s goal was to reach levels of peak performance and outwork everyone in the industry.

2. Dedicating himself to his passion for MMA, Conor’s focus was resolute and clear. Knowing exactly what he wanted, he was able to plan every step of his journey and control the results he produced. At one time, Conor held two championship titles in two divisions at the same time making him the first ever to accomplish such a feat. Conor embraced and understood that in order to achieve success in his external world, he must first internally build himself into an impenetrable fortress. By doing so, he has been able to defend himself from the doubters and naysayers that intend only to bring him down. He knows exactly who he is in this world and what he stands for. Conor admits that his motivation has lapsed from time to time, and recognizes that his shifts in his focus were potentially catastrophic. Ultimately, his drive and his passion were realigned and his trajectory corrected.

3. The story of Conor McGregor and his humble beginnings remind me that success is, and must be earned. Everything that Conor has accomplished has come from his unwavering commitment to constantly raise the bar and push the limits of what’s possible. Though his recent past has been plagued with legal troubles and mischief, Conor is someone I look to as a mentor. With similar beginnings, Conor proved that you can “bootstrap” your way to success with persistence and dedication. We all need to hone in on what we want, and get hyper focused on what it’s going to take to move us closer to our goals. By accepting the reality that external forces will always exist to drag us down, we can focus more intently on building ourselves up to be impervious to their negativity. Use your passion to propel you towards your dreams and stay focused on the results you desire.

I enjoy seeking out content like Tony’s interview with Conor, and how I can apply it to my own journey. Most of the ideas I share are part of a fundamental set of principles that successful people use everyday. Regardless of their craft, we can emulate their efforts and begin to shape a life of freedom for ourselves. I think of stories like this as a recipe. The hard work is already done, we just need to find the courage to start and the simply follow the instructions.

I also highly recommend Tony’s book Unshakeable: Your Financial Freedom Playbook. I am a huge fan and believer of Tony’s work and in his book Unshakeable he provides the steps necessary for an actionable plan to achieve true financial freedom.

Cheers to your success!
