Motivation Monday

Motivation Monday

Hey! I hope you had a great weekend! Here in Pennsylvania we had to dodge the rain a bit, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying good times with family and friends. Like always, Monday is back. Which can only mean one thing, it’s time for another round of Motivation Monday! Today we will briefly discuss a success story that will help power you through the day, and keep you lifted and poised to tackle more than just the work week! Our mindset is in the driver seat. We can either tun on cruise control and hope we get to the weekend with minimal disturbances, or, we can put both hands on the wheel, keep our foot on the pedal, and steer our life past the traffic and obstacles that used to slow us down.

***Please drive carefully in traffic!

Today’s message is brought to you by Jen Welter, the first female to coach in the NFL, a two time gold medalists as a member of team USA in the 2010 and 2013 International Federation of American Football’s Women’s World Championship, and she holds a holds a doctorate degree in Psychology, a Master’s in Sport Psychology, and a Bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

Jen’s accolades are incredibly impressive. Her determination and grit rewarded her with a life of success. Jen clearly understood that she was in control of her own life and took the necessary actions to achieve her goals. The adversity she faced to become the first female NFL coach alone was undoubtedly immense. Although difficult and against all odds, Jen pushed through and leveraged her own perseverance to overcome all the doubt and prejudices. It is this level of determination and commitment we must all find and embrace if we truly desire to achieve at greater levels. Jen once said, “…if you want to be successful in this world, you have to follow your passion, not your paycheck.”

I’ve discussed before the importance of knowing “why” you want to change. For me, in the beginning, it was simply health and habit reform. I took action and found clarity surrounding many other aspects of my life. Everyday my purpose becomes more and more clear and I’ve been able to learn and grow as I continue to develop and shape my mission. Ultimately, like Jen, we have to commit fully to our passion and do whatever it takes to overcome adversity and hardships. We have to be absolutely clear in our purpose, and be willing to do all the things that everyone else will not. We either do the things that move us closer to our goals, or we do not.

Today, don’t give in to negativity, adversity, or the naysayers that will inevitably try to pull you down and place you back in the crowd. Take action to rise above and propel yourself over and through all the barriers that intend to slow you down! Observe your thoughts and entertain only those that empower you. Together, we can achieve anything we set our focus on!

Now, get out there and make this day your best one yet!

Cheers to your success!
