28 Apr Embrace The Challenges Ahead
Hey! Happy Saturday! It’s a bit gloomy here today, but that’s ok. It’s going to be a great day no matter what! Today, I got up early as usual right at 04:00am, and I immediately got to work. I know, it’s Saturday. If you’re asking yourself, “why does this guy get up so early on his day off?”, or “does this guy ever take a break?”, it’s a valid question and I’m glad you asked. I know that if I get up and challenge myself every morning to do something different than I used to do, I’ll get different results. The task isn’t always the same, nor is it the focus. It’s clarity that drives me. I know what I want to achieve and I’m willing to do whatever is necessary to produce the results I desire. It’s not easy, and I would love to sleep in here and there, but as soon as I get up and put my mind to work, I am immediately empowered by my decision to positively affect change in my life.
1. I feel it’s important to reiterate the fact that I’m not an overnight success story. I’m just a regular guy with a normal life. I’m a work in progress and I have family and social obligations just like everyone else. Just because I get up early on the weekends and start my day off with work, doesn’t necessarily mean that I’m some super efficient machine that requires no breaks or maintenance. I get up and get to work so I can be a part of the other aspects of my life that are also very important to me. Being up early is my method of increasing my efficiency and productivity and it offers me the opportunity to work distraction free for a few hours. Currently, as I am writing this post, my son and my dog are connected to my hip on the couch and my backspace button is getting a real workout! So, distraction free time on the weekends can be hard to come by and maximizing that time is key.
2. As I continue on my journey of physical, personal, and professional development a greater sense of clarity is evident and I am able to focus on the results of my efforts and less on the work that will produce the results. Knowing what I want is the first step on the path to success and being absolutely clear on what I aim to achieve will serve as a guide all the way to the end. I didn’t know what I wanted at first. I just knew things had to change. Once I committed to change, it became very obvious that I wanted a better life for my family and to grow into the best version of myself so that I would be able to affect change in the lives of others. In the beginning, I had no idea how get started, but I knew where to go for help. I turned to the internet, books, and podcasts and found a mentor. Several actually. Their dedication and willingness to help others poured out to me when I began searching for new information to move me closer to my goals.
3. With a mentor (or mentors) in place, we are able to take the challenges and obstacle we face head on with their support. Their words of encouragement and similar beginnings will help you push through barriers that used to contain and deter you from reaching your goals. I trust in people like Tony Robbins, Grant Cardone, Jeff Lerner, and many other entrepreneurs whose beginnings are like mine. I emulate their successes and I study their failures. I lean on them for the support I need to get up early, hit my fitness goals, eat right, grow my business, and become more as a father, husband, and positive influence in this world. They help me think big while I define my mission and my purpose. I’ve learned that being rich means so much more than the size of my bank account, and has less to do with money than I could have ever previously imagined. Now, with the help of these mentors I am focused on becoming rich in mind, body, and spirit.
When we know what we really want, we are rewarded by our focus and determination. I urge you to get clear on what it is you aim to accomplish, find a great mentor, and take the challenges head on! Do the hard things willingly and persistently and your life will change! I promise.
I hope you have a great day and I’ll see you right back here tomorrow!
Cheers to your success!
