28 Apr Motivation Monday

Hey! Welcome back! I hope you had a great weekend and had some time to enjoy the spring weather. Now that Monday has arrived, it’s time to refocus and launch ourselves towards our goals. The start of the week gives us an opportunity to renew our perspective and forge ahead with a clear and focused mind. The events of the past, whether it was last week or last year, can not be allowed to define our future. This week, start with an open mind and be aware of your thoughts. When negativity begins to surface, acknowledge it and quickly dismiss it. Stay focused on your goals, and remember that negativity will only attract negative results.
Keep Your Goals Just Out Of Reach
A new week calls for another look at your goals. I like to write weekly goals and Mondays are a perfect time to track my progress. My weekly goals are usually broken down into smaller daily goals like reading for 15 minutes, writing the blog, and completing my workout. These goals renew everyday and are only modified to continually challenge me. Additionally, I have goals that are specific to each week like completing a phase of my trainings or completing an ad campaign. Most of the time, I am able to complete my weekly goals but I also set a few goals that are just outside of my capability to achieve. For instance, “save twice as much money as last week” isn’t always feasible, but it forces me to think critically and creatively if I want to achieve such an aggressive goal.
Placing your goals out of reach is definitely not in alignment with standard goal setting practices. Setting goals out of your reach can feel odd at first, but it begins to feel more natural over time. I think it’s also important to understand that this practice emphasizes the actions you take, not the result. The desired result drives our efforts, and if we remain committed by taking massive action, then the reward is realized in the pursuit of our goals. Remember, it’s not about what we do here and there, it’s about what we commit to doing every single day no matter what it’s going to take.

Launch Yourself Forward
To help get the week started, revisit your goals and notice if they are written to challenge you and hold you accountable. I encourage you to get aggressive with your goal setting and allow your creativity to fuel your efforts. Focus on the path, not the destination. You already know what you want to accomplish, pivot your attention to the journey and the actions you need to take to achieve all your desires. Mondays are an opportunity to start fresh, let go of the past, and take actions that will create a new and successful future!
Cheers to your success!
