28 Apr Motivation Monday
Hey! Welcome back for another Motivation Monday! I hope you had a great weekend and a great Easter Sunday. Yesterday, was a busy day, but the time spent with family was the highlight of it all. We enjoyed great conversation, great food, and had quite a few laughs. The weather was beautiful and the kids even got an ice cream come from the ice cream truck! That’s a real indication that the seasons have changed! I can’t tell you how excited I am for summer weather and all the fun times ahead!
1. Let’s jump right into today’s motivational tip! Affirmations. I truly believe that affirmations are the first step to liberating a negative mindset. Negativity will only attract more negativity. Thus, sculpting and retraining our subconscious is critical if we wish to attract the things in life that will level us up and move us closer to our goals and dreams. Easier said than done? I used to think so. I dismissed practices like this because I chose not to believe that some silly sayings could ever positively impact my life. After all, I wake up everyday, make my own choices, and because of my hard work most of the time things work out. So, when I committed to the path of entrepreneurship I had two options, continue doing the same things and get the same results. Or, I could let go of my pride and try something new, even if it did seem silly. Ultimately, I had nothing to lose.
2. Every morning, and every night before bed, I recite 14 affirmations that are in alignment with my physical, personal, and professional goals. It is my belief that because I routinely recite these affirmations, that I am more aware of my thoughts and behaviors. Each day, I focus on directing my thoughts to places that will deliver me the results I desire. For example, one of my affirmations is, “I observe my thoughts and entertain only those that empower me”. I recite this aloud several times throughout my day, and every time I catch myself thinking “bad thoughts”. The impact of this practice has been eye opening. I realize now that my mental blueprint was mostly negative. My old thoughts were so selfish and demoralizing. I don’t know how I ever got anything done!
3. Since dedicating myself to reshaping my mind, everything in my life has improved. My patience has improved, I recognize the good qualities in the people around me, and I actually enjoy building others up instead of tearing them down. My negativity used to pour out onto my family, friends, and coworkers. I used to speak with such disregard to my wife and children as a result of an untamed mind. Looking back, it’s almost as if I was a prisoner of my own thoughts. The power of my affirmations has been very real and I am so grateful I took the advice of T. Harv Eker in his book Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. Throughout the book, Harv repeatedly expresses the importance of shedding your negativity, doubts, and fears. And his solution is AFFIRMATIONS! Harv gives away a ton of additional content with the purchase of his book, and I highly recommend purchasing a copy for yourself!
When you take control of your thoughts, you take control of your life! Have a great week and I’ll see you back here tomorrow!
Cheers to your success!
